The most awesome views from Pokhara are the Annapurna Mountain Range, Machhapuchhre Peak (Fish Tail Mountain), and the Fewa Lake. The best tourism activities done from Pokhara are trekking and hiking. Pokhara, being one of the major cities of the Himalayan kingdom, NEPAL, is the place from which we can start the most exciting treks to the Annapurna region, the Ghorepani Poon Hill treks, and the short Dhampus (1,770 m) Sarangkot (1,610 m) Trek. We can enjoy the very beautiful view of the lake, the city, and the Annapurna area from Sarangkot.
Dhampus (1,770 m) and Sarangkot (1,610 m) hiking can be started from Phedi, which is a 30-minute drive from Pokhara. We ascend a 3-hour walk through the typical Nepalese village along with farmland and reach the village of Dhampus (1,770 m). From Dhampus, we can have amazing views of the Machhapuchhre (Fish Tail) Peak. We will stay overnight in Dhampus so that we can enjoy the sunrise view that touches the Annapurna mountain region, and that will really blow our minds. After the mind-blowing view of sunrise from Dhampus, we start our journey to Sarangkot (1610 m), which is approximately a 4-5 hour trek. Our trail descends down to Dhampus River and again ascends gradually to Naudanda Village. With the enjoyment of trekking along with beautiful mountain scenery and village lifestyles, we will reach Sarangkot (1610 m). We will spend our night in Sarangkot. Here, we can enjoy the most beautiful scene of the Pokhara Valley and Phewa Lake. In the early morning, we will hike to Sarangkot Tower to capture the sunrise over the White Mountains of the whole Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Ranges, including Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). After having a pleasant view of sunrise from Sarangkot, we continue our trek along the way downhill to Pokhara city.
