The Manaslu-Annapurna circuit trek is designed for those who want to trek the Annapurna and Manaslu circuit in a single hike. This trek covers the Manaslu Conservation Area and one of the best trails in the world, according to a survey by Modern Maturity (USA), the Annapurna Circuit Trek. Both trekking circuits, Manaslu and Annapurna, combine the best observation of lifestyle and culture along with various snow-capped mountains in the western part of Nepal. The Manaslu circuit trek is a newly opened restricted area where you need to obtain a special permit. Only two trekkers are eligible to trek in the area.
The Manaslu Annapurna circuit trek starts from the Gorkha district (central part of Nepal) and moves into the western part. In this trek, you can see the eighth highest mountain in the world, Manaslu (8156 m/26751 ft), from its base camp with other various mountains, namely Himalchuli (7893 m/16049 ft), Shringi (7187 m/23573 ft), Langpo (6968 m/22855 ft), and the entire Annapurna range and Machhapuchhre, known as fishtail as well (6999 m/22956 ft). Another exciting part of this trip is Throng-La, a summit pass at 5416 m/17764 ft altitude, which could be a dream for any trekker. After crossing the Throng-La pass, you will reach Muktinath, the sacred site of Hindus as well as Buddhists. Trekking passes through the Manaslu and Annapurna conservation areas, allowing trekkers to see a variety of birds and wildlife. With that beautiful and mind-blowing walk came to an end at a place called Jomsom. Finally, you will depart for Pokhara with exciting mountain flights.
The best combination of the Manaslu circuit and the Annapurna circuit trek provides you with a tremendously beautiful scenario with colorful mountains, with a lot of ethnic groups' culture and their lifestyle in the Himalayan range. Trekkers also observe the various castes and their festivals while living in harmony to make their native culture livelier. This trekking trail will provide a view of the whole northern side of the western region of Nepal.
The Manaslu Circuit Trek with the Annapurna Circuit Trek is a great combination for avid trekkers. Here you will be able to cross two famous mountain passes of Nepal: Larkya La (5,106m), a remote and dramatic mountain pass lying at the foot of the icy mountains of Manaslu, and then Thorong La (5,416m), the entrance to the Annapurna Circuit Trek.
Scenic drive Kathmandu to Arughat through mountain country, expect a thrilling overland ride on winding hill roads and terraced fields then later river valleys , before you finally arrive at the trek starting spot.
Also, take your time to explore a few highland villages. you’ll be wandering in distant Himalayan settlements where old stone homes, prayer flags fluttering, and warm welcome from the locals give you a real, close look at day to day mountain living.
Manaslu Glacier : see the massive icefalls and crevassed ground, fed by Manaslu itself (the world’s eighth-highest peak) , moving across a dramatic glacial high-altitude scene.
Larkya-La pass & Thorong-La pass. Cross two serious high altitude passes, both sitting over 5,000 meters, and you’ll get rewarded with wide-open panoramas of snow-capped Himalayan giants on either side, almost unreal in the clear air.
Many old Buddhist monasteries. Go see centuries-old gompas , with colorful murals and prayer wheels , and it feels like a quiet doorway into the region’s deep Tibetan Buddhist roots.
Gurung, Thakali, Magar, & Manangi villages. Experience the cultural mix of different ethnic communities, each one with separate customs, architecture, food styles, and that steady mountain kindness along the way.
Visit some of the oldest monasteries in the region. Step into ancient sacred corners that hold history, where monks continue age-old practices, surrounded by stunning Himalayan backdrops.
Holy lake Tilicho 4,900m / 16,072ft. Trek to one of the very highest lakes, a turquoise treasure held close by big surrounding peaks, and it’s sacred for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims.
