Trek Overview

The Tsum Valley trek remains a mysterious land with wild, beautiful scenery that features a lot of magnificent mountains, gorgeously landscaped with a unique richness in culture, lifestyle, and festivals. The valley is between 3000 and 4000 meters in altitude and was a restricted area until it was opened in 2008 for every traveler to observe the hidden beauty of Tsum Valley. Tsum Valley is surrounded by Sringi Himal and Ganesh Himal to the north and south, respectively, along with Himalchuli and Baudha Himal to the west. This valley trek can also be combined with the Manaslu Circuit trek.

The Tsum Valley trek area is admitted as the holy place for pilgrimage. The valley has a long history of Buddhism. A lot of saints believe as they meditate in the valley's mountain caves. A lot of caves are still found with such historical evidence in this valley. The Tsum Valley area is quite a dry area, where people are mostly found in the upper part or the northern part, where little fertile land is available, on which local people cultivate various crops like potato, wheat, and barley, along with mustard. You will mainly find walnut and apple trees in this valley. This valley is rich in its culture, unique festival, and lifestyle, which they have on their own. People are still practicing the polyandry system in this valley. You can observe various birds and wildlife in this area. The Tsum Valley trek can be combined with the Manaslu circuit trekking.

The Tsum Valley trek offers a lot of new and unseen charms of Nepal, and the culture found in Tsum Valley is not only beautiful and rich but also unique throughout the country. A homestay base is staying in the valley. The village offers fantastic panoramic views of the snow-capped mountains, a magnificent landscape, and warm, welcoming hospitality from the local community. It is a valley every traveler must see to experience its hidden beauty.

Tsum Valley Trek can be connected with Manaslu Circuit Trek to make this experience even more memorable by visiting one of the remotest and culturally rich areas in the Himalayas of Nepal. This longer trip includes Tsum Valley, where you can discover Buddhist monasteries, local culture, and Tibetan influence, which make this trek unique. Then, from Tsum Valley, the trek moves towards the Manaslu Circuit, where you will see Mount Manaslu and enjoy breathtaking mountain views. Manaslu Circuit is famous for its beautiful and wild mountain scenery, deep valleys, and challenging high-altitude trekking experience.
