Langtang Gosaikunda trek is another popular trekking route in the Langtang region. In this trekking, you will get an opportunity to visit Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda. Langtang Valley is famous as the valley of glaciers. Here you will get a close-up view of mountains named Langtang Lirung (7246 m), visit glaciers, and walk on grassy down and meadows.
The Langtang Gosaikunda trek is held inside the Langtang National Park. The Gosainkunda is one of the holiest mountain lakes at 4380 meters above sea level. Hindus and Buddhist pilgrims gather around this area yearly, especially on the full moon day of August. They believe that if they take a bath in the water of this lake they will be saved from their all sins done during that year. Both Hindus, as well as Buddhists, visit this once in a lifetime in this lake. It takes about 45 minutes to circumambulate this lake.
For this trekking, you take a morning drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi (Around 8 hours). At first, you follow the route to Langtang Valley and Kyanjin Gompa. And then you take half of the previous route which diverts you to the way to Gosaikunda Lake. After visiting Gosaikunda Lake you will trek back to Dhunche until the bus station and return to Kathmandu. The Langtang Gosaikunda trek is worth it and fulfills your adventure appetite. In other words, the Langtang Gosaikunda trek is an unparalleled combination of natural beauty and cultural riches.
Then visit holy Gosaikunda Lake (4,200m), that sacred alpine lake revered by Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims, very quietly but with feeling.
