Myagdi Baglung Eco Trek

Myagdi Baglung Eco Trek is a newly introduced trekking trail that passes through the villages and trails of Myagdi and Baglung districts. This trek goes through the trails of Myagdi and Baglung districts. This region is located towards the west of Annapurna and south of Dhaulagiri. This trek offers a great variety of landscapes, customs, culture, and tradition of Gurung, Thakali, Brahmin, Chhetri, and Magar people. The majority are Magar people, so we can have a chance to explore Magar culture, customs, traditions, and the way of living in this region. During this trek, we have to traverse through varied landscapes and terrain.

Myagdi Baglung Eco trek is very special for some reason as it goes through the offbeat trail, Indigenous people and culture, Dhorpatan hunting reserve, and its remote access. During this trek, we go through a little high elevation around 3200m, and we can see the spectacular Himalayan view. The major attraction of this trek is Magar culture and Dhorpatan hunting reserve. The Magar people are one of the major ethnic group people from Nepal living in large numbers in this region. We can say that this Myagdi Baglung region is the home of Magar culture, customs, and traditions. In the middle of the trek, our trail goes through Dhorpatan hunting reserve, where we can see many different types of birds, animals, and vegetation.

Myagdi Baglung Eco trek: generally, the term Eco refers to an eco-friendly or sustainable environment. This trek is developed based on Eco-friendly tourism. This trek will take you to the heart of unexplored Magar villages, culture, people, and the way of living since early times. The Magar are one of the major ethnic groups of Nepal living in the western and the midwestern hilly areas and following Hinduism and their own rituals as well. During this trek, we have to sleep in local homes or in the wild using a tent and prepare our food by ourselves. But in the village areas, there is the facility of staying in a local home called a homestay, so we can get close to local culture, customs, traditions, and way of living from nearby.

You can link the Myagdi Baglung Eco Trek with the well-known Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek to make the trip longer. Start early, before sunrise, so you can stand at Poon Hill and watch the light come up. From that spot, you get views toward the Annapurna range and the Dhaulagiri range.

After that, you continue along the path and pass through smaller towns in Myagdi. The trail goes through forested sections too, with dense trees along the way. The whole route feels calm. It is not as crowded as the main trekking paths.

When you reach the end, you get classic mountain scenery. You also see the quieter parts of the Himalaya.
