Muktinath package tour is a journey to a wonderland that goes to the heart of the Himalaya, following the holy river Kaligandaki passing through the world's deepest gorge between Mt Annapurna (8091 m) and Dhaulagiri (8167 m). This journey starts at Pokhara (800 m) and reaches its highest elevation at 3850 m at Muktinath Temple, one of the holiest temples of Hinduism and Buddhism. The journey starts in a subtropical climatic zone surrounded by lush green forests and fields around Pokhara. While the journey keeps going, the terrain continually changes through the scenic mountain highway.
This journey roughly covers the distance of 360km from Pokhara to Pokhara, including a round trip. Scenic drive, multi-ethnic culture, diversified landscape, world-famous mountain, holiest temple Muktinath, medieval town Kagbeni, and Marpha apple farm are the major specialties that this journey offers for four to five days.
The Muktinath package tour is the best-selling and the most desired tour among Nepalese, Indian, and South Asian. This several-day tour becomes the journey of a lifetime because it offers a truly unforgettable adventure, scenery, and pilgrimage. Also, this is the must-do journey for Hindus and Buddhists in a lifetime. And also precious for other religions or atheists because it is surreal and truly heavenly. No matter the view of the mountain or desert landscape, it’s always fascinating that we can see bunches of mountains like Mt Annapurna, Mt Dhaulagiri, Mt Nilgiri, Mt Tukuche, Mt Machhapuchhre, Mt Annapurna South, and Mt Hiunchuli.
Muktinath is kind of a strategic hub that blends in nicely with a bunch of Annapurna region treks. You start there, and suddenly the rest feels… smoother, like it was meant to connect. Muktinath and Upper Mustang take you deeper into the restricted “Last Forbidden Kingdom,” and it’s all about Lo Manthang’s ancient caves, monasteries, and that desert vibe (10-14 days). Muktinath and Ghorepani Poon Hill mix the sacred temple stop with seriously beautiful Annapurna / Dhaulagiri sunrise views from Poon Hill, plus traditional Gurung or Magar villages along the way (7-9 days). Muktinath + Annapurna Circuit is the classic setup: you trek through Thorong La Pass (5,416m) first, then you come down toward Muktinath, and you pass through everything from subtropical forests to high-altitude alpine desert (12-16 days). Really, every route gives you cultural immersion and dramatic Himalayan scenery, and they can be arranged differently too—like jeep or flight options, if you want to save some time. The best seasons are March-May and September-November.
