Trek Overview

Trek Overview

Chitlang Indrasarobar hiking is regarded as one of the best hikes around the Kathmandu Valley, which goes through the southwestern region of Kathmandu. The hike starts at Thankot, and it goes through lush green forest and passes through Chandragiri Pass (2250 m), then the trail heads downhill and reaches the unique village called Chitlang. The unique ancient settlement reflects the ancient history, art & culture through art, craft, custom, and culture. Next is Indrasarobar Lake, which is the largest human-made lake in Nepal. Panoramic Mountain view, Bird watching, Chitlang village, Indrasarobar Lake, and rainbow trout fish are the major highlights of this trip.

Chitlang Indrasarobar hiking offers a great journey through the lush green forest in the southwest part of the valley, and we can see the ancient settlement of Chitlang village, which is a centuries-old village enriched with culture, custom, art, and craft. Before the road construction in Nepal, there used to be a big trail way coming to Kathmandu valley from the south, bringing stuff & commodities carried by Donkey, horse, and man.
The first night we will stay in the beautiful village called Chitlang, where we can see many houses built with red bricks and wood-crafted windows and doors. The next day we hike to Indrasarobar Lake, which is the largest human-made lake in Nepal. We can visit around the lake and dam side, which is a good place to try some local cuisine with local fish. Then the car will pick us up from Kulekhani and drop us off in Kathmandu. This hike is the mirror that reflects the landscape, flora-fauna, people & culture in fewer days around Kathmandu Valley.
