From Pokhara city, 45 minutes of driving can easily access the touristic hub, Lakeside. The trekking starting point of Dhampus is Phedi, which is a lower and farmed-land village. From Phedi, we gradually hike up through the beautiful villages and forest for three hours. Alternative Dhampus trek 1
Day Hike in Dhampus (1,682m). The day hike from Phedi Village starts at the village, which serves as the entrance to this trail, which leads to Dhampus. The path leads through dense rhododendron forests and terraced farmlands and traditional Gurung settlements while it climbs for three hours to reach the charming hilltop village of Dhampus, which sits at 1,682 meters. The moment you arrive at the location, you will experience stunning 360-degree views that display the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Dhaulagiri mountains that extend over the entire skyline. The village offers an open space where visitors can meet the friendly residents while they experience the Himalayan atmosphere before they return to Phedi within one and a half hours. The adventure provides a complete experience that suits all people regardless of their physical ability.
Alternative Dhampus trek 2:
Dhampus to Sarankot (1600m) trek – 3-day trek. Staying overnight at Sarankot is another opportunity to capture an amazing view of the Himalayas and the landscape of Pokhara City. Enjoy the panoramic view of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu. If you love adventure, don’t miss paragliding.
Day 1: Drive to Phedi and trek to Dhampus (1,750 m). We drive to Phedi by private tourist vehicles for 30 minutes to 45 minutes. Ascend a 3 to 4-hour trek to reach Dhampus. Overnight at Dhampus Village.
Day 2: Trek to Sarankot (1600 m) After breakfast, we head off to Sarankot hill station, walking through the beautiful hamlet of the paddy fields. Sarankot offers superb sunrise and sunset views between the snow-capped Himalayas.
Day 3: Trek to Pokhara (827 m): lakeside. Easy downhill treks move towards the beautiful lakeside. It is just a 2-3 hour walk. At your leisure, you have many options to choose from. Such as boating, visiting Mahindra Cave, or Devi’s Fall, or you can relax in your hotel.
Alternative Dhampus trek 3:
Dhampus to Australian Camp trek (2055m) – 3 days
Day 1: We drive to Phedi to start our trek. Approximately a 3-hour trek. Stay overnight at Dhampus.
Day 2: We begin our trek with the mesmerizing panoramic views of the Himalayas. Walk gently through the rhododendron and oak forest until Pothana. Having lunch after, we follow the trail, climbing a stone-paved way until Australian Camp. There is a large green ground for camping; trekkers can entertain themselves by playing football, volleyball, and badminton with the trekking crews or with their family members.
Day 3: After breakfast, we do a short trek to Kande. It is about a 2-hour walk. From Kande, our private car will pick you up at the Hotel-Lakeside.
