Mundum trek is a newly discovered trekking journey in Far East Nepal. The journey starts at the place called Diktel near Halesi temple. This is the youngest official trekking destination launched in Nepal in January 2018. The trail traverse through the ridge from where we can see the magnificent view of Himalaya’s peaks and mountains. The Mundum trek is a journey which reflects the culture of Rai, Limbu and Kirat people in a village.

The term Mundum is derived from the holy book of Kirat people who are the indigenous living in this area. During your journey, you will be able to see Kirat people their custom, culture, tradition, and way of living. If you are searching for offbeat virgin trekking route Mundum trek is for you which can fulfill your thirst for the exploration.  The Himalayan Smile treks organize camping trek including food and accommodation in a tent for this journey because there are no teahouses for the most part. The Mundum trekking route grade is easy/moderate, it not a physical or technically challenging trek, you will still need a good level of fitness. In trek route electricity is not available in many parts of this trekking route, so we will suggest battery backups if needed should be brought in Kathmandu.

Mundum trek is a journey for those adventure seekers who prefer to trek through the unspoiled and virgin terrain. The trek mostly traverses through the ridge of the mountain and hill thus we always have the bird’s eye view as well as the view Himalayas towering peaks and mountains. We can see around thirty different peaks including several mountains over eight thousand meters which are Everest, Lhotse, Choyu, Makalu, Shishapangma. The highest point we going to reach during this journey is Silchunk peak which is 4200m high above the sea level.
