Asan is one of the busiest square place of market traders and worships. From spices, beans, fruits & vegetables to curio, metal wares, Saree, every traditional markets are available here. And besides, the temples and shrines you would meet are Annapurna temple, Ganesh temple, Kumari Bhairab shrine and stone fish. While, the major festival here is Indra Jatra. Ason has six lanes which heads to the Jamal, Bhotahiti, Maha Boudha, Indrachowk and Bangemuda.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is one of the three Durbar squares in the heart of the capital city. The royal palace also known as Basantapur Durbar Square was ruled by Malla and Shah dynasty over the city now opened as Hanuman Dhoka Museum. Around the Durbar Square, you would meet Kumari temple, Hanuman Dhoka, Kaal Bhairav, Ganesh temple, etc. There’s also street shops, curio arts, paintings, merchandise in the Basantapur which will find your interests.

Swayambhunath Stupa is one of the ancient religious architecture and the popular stupa in the valley. The stupa is also known as monkey temple since there are territories of holy monkeys. Around the stupa have Shrines, Harati mata temple, monastery, museum, shops, Thanka paintings, etc. To access up to the hill, you can either climb 360 steps or through the back side of the hill.
