Chitlang Indrasarobar hiking is regarded one of the best hiking around Kathmandu valley which goes through the south western region of Kathmandu. The hike starts at Thankot and it goes through lush green forest and passes through Chandragiri Pass (2250 m) then the trail head downhill and reaches the unique village called Chitlang. The unique ancient settlement reflecting the ancient history, art & culture through the art, craft, custom and culture. The next is Indrasarobar Lake which is the largest human made lake in Nepal. Panoramic Mountain view, Bird watching, Chitlang village, Indrasarobar Lake, Rainbow trout fish are the major highlights of this trip.
Chitlang Indrasarobar hiking offers great journey through the lush green forest in the south west part of valley and we can see ancient settlement of Chitlang village which Is centuries old village enrich with culture, custom, art and craft. Before the road construction in Nepal there used to be a big trail way coming to Kathmandu valley from south bringing stuff & commodities carried by Donkey, horse and man.
First night we will stay in the beautiful village called Chitlang where we can see many houses built by red bricks and wood crafted windows and doors. Next day we hike to Indrasarobar Lake which is the largest human made lake in Nepal. We can visit around the lake and dam side which is good place to try some cuisine with local fish. Then the car will pick us up from Kulekhani and drop off to Kathmandu. This hike is the mirror which reflects the landscape, flora-fauna, people & culture in fewer days around Kathmandu valley.
