Makalu base camp trek is a remote wilderness adventure trek in Nepal which is located in the Mahalangur Himalayas 19 km southeast of Mount Everest, on the border between Nepal and China. The trek  highlights is remote valley wide diversity of faunal species rhododendron and juniper, aromatic herbs and delicate wildflowers of orchids valuable aromatic and medicinal plants. The region above 5,000 m comprises mainly rock and ice with little vegetation.
