Dhaulagiri trekking is the seventh highest mountain (8167 meter) in the world. The word Dhaulagiri means the White Mountain which justifies a giant peak rising as a giant shoulder of shining ice and snow. Mt. Dhaulagiri was firstly discovered in 1808 and was thought to be the highest mountain in the world till long years. Dhaulagiri lies northwest of Pokhara, an important regional town and tourist center. Geographically Dhaulagiri Trekking is a land of dramatic contrast. This trekking requires a sense of adventure to cope with challenges that everyone face on that trail. Dhaulagiri is quite trekking zone and a paradise for all nature lovers. Trekkers follow the Myagdi Khola westwards to Darbang and turn north on a tiny trail that leads through forests into the high country. They walk through tricky trail on snow and glaciers as it crosses French Col (5240m). They also pass the head of Hidden Valley and cross the 5155m Thapa Pass. The trek ends with a steep descent to Marpha and return to Pokhara via the Ghorepani ridge with bewildering views of the entire Dhaulagiri massif.
